“Pandji Pragiwaksono”

Pandji mendeskripsikan dirinya sebagai seorang yang ingin terus berkarya melalui berbagai medium mulai musik, buku, dan stand-up comedy.

“Pada dasarnya saya punya banyak keresahan yang ingin saya keluarkan..banyak yang ingin saya ekspresikan, ” katanya.

Sebagai salah satu pelopor stand up comedy dan comic pertama dari Indonesia yang mengadakan world tour, Pandji mengungkapkan bahwa jenis hiburan ini sedang digemari dan menjadi alternatif hiburan di Indonesia.

“Teman-teman suka bilang saya ini lucu dan dari dulu saya sadar punya dua bakat..seneng ngomong dan kuat ngomong,” kata Pandji berterus terang. Menyadari bakat ini kemudian dirinya mengaku terinspirasi dari beberapa komedian semacam Robin Williams dan Chris Rock. Saat itulah dirinya bertekad dan belajar untuk menjadi stand up komedian yang baik. Saat ditemui di sela-sela persiapan “Mesakke Bangsaku” World Tour di Brisbane, Pandji Pragiwaksono menceritakan tentang bagaimana aktivitasnya saat ini dan cara pandangnya terhadap Indonesia.

“Indonesia adalah sebuah konsep kebersatuan dalam keragaman”, tutur Panji.

Siapapun di Indonesia mesti siap dengan adanya berbagai perbedaan dan tidak perlu pesimis dengan keadaan yang ada.Dengan optimis Panji mengungkapkan bahwa “Indonesia akan baik-baik saja”. Negara kita membuat banyak negara lain “ngiler” karena ingin mengambil bagian dari perekonomian kita sehingga tidak ada alasan lagi untuk pesimis. Baginya, masyarakat Indonesia perlu untuk mendapatkan informasi yang lebih positif terhadap Indonesia.

Bagi Panji, “Cita-cita, mimpi, harapan adalah jembatan dari hari ini ke esok hari”. Saat ditanya tentang arti cita-cita, ia melanjutkan bahwa keinginannya untuk sukses lebih besar daripada ketakutannya untuk gagal. Panji kemudian menekankan agar anak muda Indonesia mampu menciptakan perubahan ke arah yang lebih baik tanpa banyak menuntut pemerintah.

“Daripada kita menuntut perubahan lebih baik kita menciptakan perubahan”, tegasnya.

Panji menuturkan pentingnya melakukan perubahan berdasarkan pelajaran dari kesalahan di masa lampau. “We are what we know”. Jadi, apapun yang kita ketahui hendaknya dapat menjadi masukan untuk keputusan yang lebih baik (berkualitas) dalam hidup kita, lanjutnya.

Pandji described himself as a person who is willing to make contribution to the community through several ways such as musics, books, and stand-up comedy.

“Basically, there are many concern that I’d like to share…to express”, told him.

As one of Indonesian pioneer on stand up comedy and comic who had world tour, Pandji mentioned that this syle of entertainment had gain more interest and had became another entertainment option in Indonesia.

“I like to make a joke, my friends said I am humorous, funny and I realize that I have two talents…I like to talk and I can talk for a long time”, as he continued. He mentioned that it was the inspiration from some comedians such as Robin Williams and Chris Rock that had made him learn to be a good stand up comedian.

In the interview between preparation on his show “Mesakke Bangsaku” World Tour in Brisbane, Pandji Pragiwaksono shared his current activities and his point of view for Indonesia.

“Indonesia is a concept of unity in diversity”, as Pandji defined.

He continued that everyone in Indonesia should be ready with this diversity and no need to be pesimistic. He optimistically said that “Indonesia will certainly be ok”. Our country had create jealousy to other nations as they’d like to be a part of our national economy. Therefore, there is no reason to be pesimistic. To him, Indonesian people need to listen to a more positive informations towards their own country.

He believe that goals, dreams, and hopes will create a bridge for tomorrow. In regards to achieving his goals, dreams and hopes, Pandji ascertained that his willingness to succeed is far beyond his fear to fail. Pandji was then underlined the need to create a change without demanding too much to the government.

Emphasising on the importance of learning from history or what we have done wrong in the past had become one of the purpose of his “Mesakke Bangsaku” program. He advised that everything we know of, should become a strong consideration for every decision for a better life as “We are what we know”.
